November 29, 2009 Meeting

     This week we were blessed to have Kevin and Meriam Smith visit with us from Trinity. Kevin brought us a message that cut straight to the heart of the matter of parenting, and our Biblical responsibility as parents to bring up the next generation not only of children, but of the future of the church and its leaders. Thanks, Kevin and Meriam and everyone at Trinity.
     La Navidad viene - Christmas is coming. This was our first Sunday this year with Christmas decorations up, and we sang Christmas carols during music time. The weather was unseasonably warm, and we had another full house with around 50 attending the worship and teaching meeting at 5pm. Once again we were pleased to have lots of kids, and new mom Neli guided them in working on their Christmas program this year.
     There are photos online from this week's meeting, including lots of photos of the kids at children's church. We celebrated November birthdays this week, with Juan, Glen, Alex, Francisco, Wendy, and several other cumpleañeros feasting on birthday cake.
     Announcements from this week: December 18th we will have both mens' and women's meetings; Mens' meeting at the church (trailer) and women's meeting will be a bridal shower for Dawn at Annette's house. Both begin at 7pm. Our Trinidad celebración de Navidad is December 24th at 7pm at Trinity (the American church). Then, on December 26th at 2pm, Dawn and Joe's wedding will be at Trinity. Members of La Trinidad are hereby invited. Also, don't miss the Christmas events coming up at Trinity like the children's Christmas musical and the live nativity (more information is on Trinity's calendar).
     Our English (Spanish) class begins next week, Sunday, December 6th, at 4pm, followed at 5pm by our meeting, and then our family fellowship dinner. We look forward to seeing you there, sharing in what Christ has done and is doing in our lives.
