December 6, 2009 - Greg Stuckey brings message of Hope and Purpose to Hispanic ministry

Once again this week the Hispanic ministry was blessed to have the Stuckey family as our guests: Greg and Jamie Stuckey and their girls. The Stuckeys are involved in ministry and missions not only in our area, but around the world, especially in South America. Some photos from the meeting are posted online.
Greg's engaging style is unforgettable, and nothing gets lost in translation. His message, from Ecclesiastes 1-3 and from I Peter 4:10, illustrated for us just how empty and meaningless life can be when we try to fill it with things, or relationships, or money; and how purpose-filled and satisfying it is when we as believers live instead for Christ, the only one who can truly fulfill. For complete fulfillment, follow these steps: 1. Become a child of God by trusting Christ. 2. Find your purpose in the spiritual gifts he has given you, and live to apply them in his service. We appreciate very much the time and effort that the Stuckeys have invested in the Hispanic ministry.
Important prayer need: Please pray for baby Bryan Herrera and family. Bryan is at MUSC with a ruptured intestine. His parents are with him. Please pray not only for strength, comfort, and healing, but also for provision, as his parents have not been able to work much during this difficult time. In Jesus' name, amen.
Announcements for the week: Each Saturday at 3pm, all kids need to be at the church (trailer) for practice for the children's program on Dec. 24th; this will continue until the program. Dec. 13th is the Live Nativity at Trinity EPC, from 5-8pm. Dec 18th there is a men's meeting at Evaristo's house, and a women's meeting-bridal shower for Dawn (who is getting married on Dec. 26th) at Annette's house. Both start at 7pm; kids go with the MEN this time. Our celebración de Navidad will be Dec. 24th at 7pm at Trinity EPC; if your kids are not already on the list, please contact Annette and make sure they are listed in order to receive a gift along with the other kids.
Our English (Spanish) class begins next week, Sunday, Dec. 13th, at 4pm, followed by our meeting at 5pm. All are welcome, Spanish-speaking or not, and as such, we hope to see you there. Peace & Love be with you in Christ.
