April 18th, 2010: Glen Bright encourages us to share the faith of the four

Glen and Mauro

Glen shared with us today from Mark chapter 2 about the healing of a paralyzed man, brought to Jesus by four friends. Jesus' priorities on seeing the man were to tend to his spiritual needs *first*, forgiving his sins, before considering his physical needs and healing him of his paralysis. This can be the opposite of how we see it sometimes, as we might tend to pray for healing first and only think about spiritual needs afterwards. It's good to see it from the point of view of the Lord Jesus.
Those four friends had faith, and showed it by bringing the man who was in need to Christ. We, too, should show our faith by bringing those in need to Christ.
Announcements: Friday meetings will continue on Friday, Apr. 23rd, with a meeting of both men and women at Meri's house; the current theme is the role of men in the church. Our 2010 Hispanic Conference coming up in July needs volunteers; to help out, see Annette and get your name on the list. Also, we are cooking for the Mother's Day celebration this year; if you cook, please see Annette for that list as well.
